Having goals can be a big help {TW}

Before I made goals for myself I felt like life was useless. I didn't have a reason for anything or anything to be driven about. Here's why I think you will benefit from having goals.

I hate living the same day over again and having nothing to do every day. The thing about having goals is that you have something in your life to really work towards. And once you achieve it you will feel a sense of accomplishment. That feeling is a really good feeling. It's like when you have something to get done that you think is difficult but once you get it done a weight is lifted off your shoulders and you feel like doing more. You feel like you can do anything.

When you feel like you can't go on anymore your goals might be the last thing on your mind but they also might be the first. Your goals will keep you going. You will be so focused on your goals that negativity won't have space in your life. Think about that. Wouldn't it be nice to live the life you have always wanted? The first step to getting there is making goals for yourself.

But I want to be realistic. When it comes to depression or intrusive thoughts sometimes I tend to block out the world and focus on negativity in my life. I wake up and dread the sound of my alarm because I hate waking up in the morning. But not because I want to die but because I don't want to experience what that day holds. Sometimes the night before I would hate falling asleep because I know that there is something called tomorrow. But it's not like this all the time...

I have realized that when I incorporate many activities into my day I feel more positive and happier. And by the end of the day, I feel like I accomplished a lot when all I did was just exercise, read a book, or watch my favorite show while drinking tea. It is really the little things that make you happy. You don't need to set big outrageous goals. You can set a goal that entails you eating your favorite snack while watching your favorite movie. Anything can be a goal. Don't let the broadness of it scare you.

I feel that when you set small goals that are achievable you will be able to set even bigger goals which will then become more achievable because of your progress from the smaller goals. Have fun with it! Do not let your negative thoughts get in the way of your success in life. I know you want a better life for yourself. That starts with picking yourself up and putting yourself on a road to positivity. I feel that the first goal you should try out is daily gratitude journaling.

I want you to get a new notebook it doesn't have to be a real journal anything with paper you can write on can be a journal. Then make a list of 5 things you are grateful for each day, for an entire week. After that week make the list longer than after that week make it longer and repeat.

Here's a site below on how to start setting goals. Tell me about what kind of goals you want to set this year down in the comments. Have a wonderful day! And don't forget to follow me so you'll be able to know when I upload a new post.
